Alright, what’s coming up, what’s coming out? In the past, a bad season like the one we’re currently in probably would’ve made me quit, but I’m hanging on by a thread. Hopefully, spring will give me more reasons to blog. By the way, I’m still recovering from an illness, so if I seem more irritable than usual, you can blame it on that. Or my old age. Either way…
New Shows
Will Blog
Bungou Stray Dogs 2
…suuuuuuure… I think I have to refresh myself on the first season, though. I only blogged half of it, and the second half didn’t seem all that memorable when I watched it later.
Fruits Basket – PV
Apparently this will cover the rest of the manga. Does this mean that a certain someone will be the right gender this time? Eh, I dunno. I feel like I cover so many dumb harem anime series that one of these reverse harems deserve time in the crosshairs spotlight. More than anything, I just wanna see these characters in a new light, ’cause that 2001 anime was butt-ugly. To be fair, the manga was pretty booty too.
One Punch Man 2
Oh, I’m definitely blogging this. A couple of caveats, though. One, I don’t think this series is as good as Mob Psycho 100, so naturally, any post on the show will be less interesting. Two, I’m not sure how I feel about JC Staff taking over the reins from Madhouse.
On the Fence
Carole & Tuesday – PV
The premise doesn’t excite me one bit, but Bones usually puts out stuff I like. Usually. If anything, at least the animation will be good. I’ll give it a chance, I guess. It’s just too bad that I won’t like the music. I just know I won’t. I just hope the drama doesn’t end up being too mawkish. Kinda feels that way from the PV.
Fairy Gone – PV
I can’t really get a good feel from the PV. Let’s just hope it’s not another Killing Bites.
Hi no Tori: Dogo Onsen-hen
Based on Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix. Might be good, but I really have nothing to go by. Couldn’t find a PV, and I haven’t always been super impressed with Tezuka Productions.
Kenja no Mago – PV
Another isekai with a small twist, but at the end of the day, it’s just going to be yet another dude leaving his boring, humdrum life to be a badass in a made-up fantasy world full of big titty babes. I’ll probably spend weeks ranting about how much I dislike it until I get bored. Or better yet, I’ll stick with it just to spite people (like with that slime anime).
Kimetsu no Yaiba – PV
The PV doesn’t excite me; it feels kinda generic. I also don’t like the character designs. They look too young for my tastes. They probably are too young for my tastes. Anime is the medium for heroic children, but I’m getting pretty weary of it. I also don’t really care for ufotable’s animation style.
Konoyo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shoujo YU-NO – PV
I was pretty interested in the premise (parallel worlds and all that) up until the PV flashed a bunch of hot babes in front of me. Groan. Whatever, stick it in the maybe pile.
Kono Oto Tomare! – PV
The school delinquent wants to join the koto club. Have your expectations defied! Feel the emoshuns!
Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin – PV
Doesn’t look like it’ll bring anything new to the table. It’ll probably end up being forgettable.
RobiHachi – PV
Sounds like a sitcom where an unlikely couple is forced to live and work together. I’m kinda interested in this series if only because of the futuristic setting. A decent adventure anime would be nice to watch, but I don’t know how bloggable that would be.
Sarazanmai – PV
You can see Ikuhara’s influence from a mile away. I dunno, I was pretty burned by that stupid yuri bear anime, so I’m not going to get my hopes for this show. Plus, the whole “connect” business in the PV sounded mega pretentious. Gave me Kiznaiver vibes, which was a dreadfully self-important show.
Shoumetsu Toshi – PV
Loner dude meets mysterious girl who might have magical powers (I think). They have to uncover a mystery behind a destroyed city where the girl is the sole survivor, but for some reason, idols are also in this story. I’m on the fence just because of the idols.
Nah
Aikatsu Friends!: Kagayaki no Jewel
Sequel to something I didn’t watch.
Bakumatsu Crisis
Sequel to something I didn’t watch.
Boku-tachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai – PV
Another dork is “forced” to spend time with the opposite sex by being a tutor. Woe is him. How unlucky.
Diamond no Ace Act II
Sequel to something I didn’t watch. Plus, most sports anime are terrible.
Gunjou no Magmel – PV
Feels too shouneny for me.
Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine – PV
More baseball?!
Hangyaku-sei Million Arthur 2
Sequel to something I didn’t watch. If it didn’t interest me before, it’s not going to start now.
Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu – PV
Slice-of-life anime usually bores me to tears.
Jimoto ga Japan
No clue what this is, and I don’t care enough to find out.
Kidou Senshi Gundam: The Origin – Zenya Akai Suisei
A recompilation. Huh. So nothing new?
King of Prism -Shiny Seven Stars-
Sequel to something I didn’t watch.
Mix
More sports anime I’m not interested in. Plus, I highly doubt that anyone’s going to pick this up and stream it for the West. The sad part about me as an anime fan is that I still haven’t picked up the damn language after all these years! I’m just that bad at learning new languages.
Namu Amida Butsu!: Rendai UTENA – PV
Hot boy anime of the season.
Nande Koko ni Sensei ga!? – PV
“17-year-old Ichirou Satou is an average guy who always happens to find himself in a perverted situation with his teacher…”
Alright, we’re done here.
Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san
“The everyday life of Nakano, a salaryman working for an exploitative company, is suddenly intruded upon by the Kitsune, Senko-san (800 Years Old – Young Wife). Whether it be cooking, cleaning, or a special service…She’ll heal his exhaustion with her tender care.”
Fucking dumb.
Shingeki no Kyojin 3 Part 2
Meh, I gave up on this series a long time ago, and nothing I’ve heard from other people has convinced me that diving back in is worth the effort.
Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki
The description of the show doesn’t tell me anything other than that the show will “[highlight] regional cultural differences from the area of Nagoya, Aichi.” Pass.
Leftover stuff from last season
Will Continuing Blogging
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari
Yeah, I’m following this show to hell and back. Like with the slime anime, spite is a great source of motivation.
Dororo
Oh, I wasn’t aware that this show was 2-cour. More demons-of-the-week to slaughter.
I usually don’t talk about upcoming movies, because who knows when they’ll be localized for the West. Nevertheless, I’m obviously interested in Promare. I’m also kinda curious about Koutetsujou no Kabaneri: Unato Kessen just because I want to know how everything turned out for the characters, but that series didn’t end too well.
Just for fun, here’s a poll:
