Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii - 0502

Tender rain? Or Spirit Bomb? I dunno, man, I’m leaning towards the latter. By the way, don’t worry about the odd absence of Kindaichi Case Files and Nobunaga the Fool from this week’s post. I’ll catch up on them next time. I’m just still a bit burnt out at the moment. Maybe it’s all the blogging I’ve been doing lately, but I’m sure I just need a bit of time to recharge my batteries, so to speak.

Atelier Escha & Logy – Alchemists of the Dusk Sky Ep. 4

Our heroes need to decorate an apothecary. To get the money they need to buy furniture for the apothecary, they need to use alchemy in order to make a tail.

Atelier Escha & Logy - Alchemists of the Dusk Sky - 0401

Y’see, a tail like the one Escha has is rare. Her mother had made it for her, and as a result, Escha’s tail a priceless memento. Needless to say, Escha certainly won’t part with hers, but our heroes can nevertheless try to make a replica! Unfortunately, although Escha can create a tail that looks exactly the same as the one her mother had given her, it lacks a certain je nais se quoi. In other words, it won’t move like Escha’s tail. Our heroes try their best to animate the damn thing anyway, but in the end, the replica tail simply goes out of control, attaches itself to random passersby, and makes them act like animals. Esha doesn’t understand what’s missing! What’s the secret ingredient! This is where Logy chimes in and says, “[Your mother's] feelings for you, maybe?”

seriously

Yes, a mother’s love is what makes her daughter’s tail bounce up and down.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou Ep. 5

Gosh, can you guess what happens in yet another episode of this anime?

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou - 0501

That’s right! Girl-on-girl sexual assault! Hah! Funny as shit, I’ll tell you what: “And yet, it didn’t bother me. It’s frightening how easily we grow accustomed to things.” Sayaka goes on to describe how she had met an ex earlier that day, but the guy had acted inappropriately with her. Y’know, he put his lips on her without her approval, so she had to kick his ass. Still, the whole incident ruined her day, which is why she had to go home and and attack Mayumi! What’s that? Hippo what? Hippocratic oath? Now’s not the time, man! Can’t you see I’m watching my highly-cultured cartoons from the East!

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou - 0502

Anyawy, Kazunori is still on his never-ending quest to get into Ritsu’s pants. This week, he starts reading one of the novels she has been reading. In the end, Kazunori and Ritsu have fun simply discussing the events of the book, but they interpret the story in different ways. Although the girl is just happy that she can talk to anyone about the books that she loves, the guy freaks out because OMG WE DON’T SHARE THE SAME OPINIONS. Ah, youths… it reminds me of the way people having the same taste in music means you’re star-crossed lovers or some lame bullshit like that.

Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun Ep. 4

Keiichiro: “I was hitting on girls because I was in a bad mood. I can see why you’d get the wrong idea.”

Guys, you’re totally misjudging Keiichiro’s character. Sure, he grabs women when they don’t want to be grabbed and makes them feel unsafe…

Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun - 0501

…but he works really hard, yo! And he makes little girls smile!

Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun - 0502

Nobody who makes little girls smile can be a creep! And he totally saves women. ‘Cause saving women is what makes you a man. Have you saved a woman even once in your life? No? I guess you’re not a man then. So as I was saying, you’re misjudging Keiichiro. If you really want to set the record straight, just put on this skimpy outfit, and all of a sudden, you’ll see the softer side of our hero!

Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun - 0504Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun - 0503
It’s totally the same person, dudes!

And yes, the cross-dressing girl always has the biggest boobs in any harem. After all, boobs can are extremely malleable. With some tape, you can flatten G-cup knockers easily. Where do they go? Why, they wrap around the girl’s back, of course! Duh, use your noggin. This gives her lungs extra protection. If she’s really talented, she can then flap her back boob flaps like wings and take off. Woosh. Oh yeah, she’s a virgin too, hurr hurr hurr.

Mekakucity Actors Ep. 4

Give this post a shot in real life:

Mekakucity Actors - 0401

Yep, tell me how it works out. Don’t forget that the level of your head has to be on a downward incline. Anyway, this episode introduces us to yet another character. Seriously, we get another one. I guess this kid is stuck in a time loop or something, because the girl he likes keeps dying over and over, and he can’t seem to save her. In the end, he finally decides to sacrifice his own life in order to keep her alive. Will it work? Will it not work? I just don’t care anymore. Some shows don’t focus enough on the characters, but this show focuses too much on the characters. I’m done. I’m out. I’m officially dropping this show. All the head tilts and soundless mutterings in the world just aren’t enough to keep me interested.

selector infected WIXOSS Ep. 5

Oh my God, guys, there’s going to be a WIXOSS party! Let’s all sign up for it, then we can go shopping for new clothes and accessories. After all, you have to accessorize! Meanwhile, Ruuko is still freaked out by Iona’s words at the end of last week’s episode. I don’t know why one girl’s opinion matters so damn much to her.

selector infected WIXOSS - 0501

Also, Hitoe’s LRIG is suffering for some reason or other, but she won’t spill the beans just yet. She just thinks that if she sticks around Hitoe any longer, something terrible will happen. When Ruuko and Yazuki try to meet up with the girl at a designated location the very next day, Hitoe is nowhere to be found! The girl’s not responding to any text messages either, but Tama tells her owner that a battle is taking place nearby. Ruuko and Yazuki thus fear the worst. It turns out someone has dragged Hitoe into a battle. Gasp! So that’s the terrible thing! After all, it’s not like Hitoe could just turn the other person dow-… oh, you can. Welp…

Midoriko then reveals that if you lose three times, your wish, uh, reverses itself, if that makes any sense. For instance, the girl’s wish is to make friends, right? So if she loses three times, she will no longer be able to make friends. Some magical forcefield will descend upon the girl and render her completely unable to connect with another human being. Oh shit, you mean playing getting too deep into this card game will make her autistic?!

selector infected WIXOSS - 0502

When Ruuko and Yazuki finally locate Hitoe, she no longer recognizes them. Plus, when Ruuko grabs her former friend’s arm, it causes the girl great pain. Most of all, it turns out that neither a granted wish nor a reversed wish can ever be undone! Well, if we are to believe Hanayo, but I’m sure she’s telling the truth here. In any case, Yazuki feels betrayed. After all, Hanayo’s been keeping this information from her owner the entire time. What if Yazuki had lost three times, y’know? Her brother would totally hate her! Then her incest dreams would be sealed, uguu…

So everyone’s all depressed and shit for a good portion of the second half of the episode. Akira eventually shows up to shit-talk Hitoe to Ruuko, which makes the latter really mad. Basically, Ruuko just got tricked into a battle, but I’m sure she’ll win so it doesn’t really matter either way. Besides, Ruuko doesn’t even have a wish. What would happen if she loses? How do you reverse a wish when it does not even exist? Or will the game just pick the closest thing to a wish in her heart, i.e. her grandma’s well-being? I guess this is WIXOSS‘s way of turning dark and shit. Oh well, I’m still not terribly interested in the anime.

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii Ep. 5

Y’know, the start of this episode isn’t bad. Livius shows a bit of vulnerability when he admits that he’s scared. He’s scared to lose to lose Nike, so he just grabbed her hand and ran. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, emotions get the better of us, but let’s not also forget that Livius is still just a kid. Out of nowhere, however, you can see a meteor shower in the sky behind the couple. That’s so kitschy. Why go and spoil the mood by adding something so lame to the background? All of sudden, I can’t really take the scene seriously anymore. The story took a potentially interesting character moment and ham-fisted its brains out. Bleh. Oh well, what can I expect from an anime that can pull off a scene like this with a straight face:

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii - 0501

Anyway, with Nike’s powers, Livius manages to get the conspirators to out themselves to Sun Kingdom’s high society. As a result, Livius won’t get in trouble for breaking the rules. Nevertheless, Nike helps Livius learn how to forgive and stuff, so even though these conspirators would’ve killed his bride-to-be had he not stepped in, he allows them to live. The bad guy simply has to take a punch from the princess. Yay, happy endings for everyone!
