Ugh, now they’re twice as annoying.Well, there’s usually nothing to never anything to discuss with these Chaika episodes, so let’s blog this one with “pretty” pictures.
I like how easy it is for our heroes to break free from their captors. The bad guys always employ idiots.
Naturally, Chaika just has to rescue the twintailed shoujo. Who in their right mind would leave a pretty girl behind?
Her name is Niva Lada, and she becomes Chaika’s property by sucking on our heroine’s finger or something. Just anime being anime.
Oh look, it’s just Fredrica being the show’s swiss army knife. Too bad they only use her for asspulls. Anyway, everyone ends up becoming allies. What an orgy.
Then Chaika stumbles across a room full of mass-produced Faylas and whatnot, but the show already told us that they were mass-producing shit last week, so I don’t know why I’m seeing this again.
Everyone eventually converges in the forest, and upon seeing Niva Lada, Akari makes another unfunny joke. Ha. Ha. Our heroes and their temporary allies beat up on some poor animals. Enjoy.
The bad guy really just wants Niva Lada back. I think we should do it. It’s not nice to steal an old man’s twintailed shoujo.
But like every shitty action movie ever, you can disable the bad guys’ operation by just targeting one particular thing: that stupid command tower you see above.
You call that a Gundo? Now this is a Gundo.
Oh boy, the twintailed shoujo turns into a gun! How fresh and original!
We came all the way out here to see Chaika get herself a fancy, new upgrade. Ho hum.
So now that the common enemy’s been eliminated, these guys are going to fight, right? Nah, of course not! Then right before the credits roll, a bunch of old men sit around and talk about stuff. Meh. Welp, that about does it for our latest Chaika episode! No major revelations — unless you consider Guy manipulating them a revelation, which I don’t — no interesting characterizations, no cool fights, no subtext to explore, no themes to expound upon, only average animation quality to look at… and way too many Chaikas to listen to. I’m out, people. Time to slam back some Nyquil and actually go to sleep for once.
Tomorrow’s Psycho-Pass update will probably be late. It all depends on when I wake up and how long it takes my flu-addled mind to break the show down.
